In an exciting show of talent and beauty, 24 determined teenagers are about to embark on a journey to become the next Generation Z Ambassadors of Bacolod City.

The stage is set for the third edition of the highly-anticipated Mr. and Ms. Teen MassKara pageant on Oct. 15, starting at 7 p.m., at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos gymnasium.

Of the 24 contestants, 12 are vying for the title of Mr. Teen MassKara, and another 12 for the Ms. Teen MassKara crown.

Aside from the Mr. and Ms. Teen MassKara 2023 titles, also up for grabs are awards for Mr. and Ms. Teen Charity, and Mr. and Ms. Teen Tourism.

Special awards include best in festival costume, swimwear, long gown/formal wear, talent, congeniality, and photogenic. Corporate awards will also be given during the pre-pageant presentation.

Vying for the Mr. Teen MassKara 2023 title are Charles David Hinogin, 18, of Negros Occidental High School, representing Brgy. 4; Aaron Austin Cuadra, 17 (University of St. La Salle, Brgy. Mansilingan); Benz Lawrence Panesa, 15 (NOHS, Brgy. Bata); John Baren Cruz, 16 (Alegria National HS, Brgy. Alangilan); Jayved Besana, 16 (NOHS, Brgy. Singcang-Airport); Emmanuel Pescador, 18 (STI-West Negros University, Brgy. Tangub;

Rency Dela Rosa, 19 (VMA Global College, Brgy. Sum-ag); Juriel Barredo, 18 (Bacolod City NHS, Brgy. Mandalagan); Shimero Diaz, 16 (Doña Hortencia Salas Benedicto NHS, Brgy. Alangilan); Aaron Joshua Reddy, 17 (USLS, Brgy. Mansilingan); Yosh Adrean Mosquera, 18 (Rafael B. Lacson Memorial HS, Brgy. Sum-ag); and Henry Parker, 15 (NOHS, Brgy. Tangub).

Felisa); Princess Dianne Garcia, 18 (USLS, Brgy. 22);

Precious Batiancila, 16 (USLS, Brgy. Bata); Alessandra Beatrice Artesano, 16 (Riverside College, Brgy. Taculing); Cielo Marie Omboy, 17 (UNO-R, Brgy. Mansilingan); Clarisse Mole Geriane, 15 (La Consolacion College-Bacolod, Brgy. Estefania); Katharine June MComish, 15 (Ramon Torres Louisiana NHS, Brgy. Taculing); and Kyra Denise Hulleza, 15 (USLS-IS, Brgy. Taculing).

This event promises to be an unforgettable night of glamour, talent, and charisma. It is one of the highlights of the 44th MassKara Festival of Bacolod City, and is a collaborative production of the MMTM Events Organizing Services and of the Roy Villar Cajilig Event Production.

Pre-pageant activities kicked off with a visit to FMR (Favorite Music Radio) Bacolod and a press presentation.

The candidates received mentoring and guidance from industry professionals, through an acting workshop led by TBON actor Ernie Roque Amador and Anggulo director Junmarl Alconga.

Choreographer Sean Patrick Tan also conducted walk training sessions, to ensure that the contestants exude grace and poise on stage.

The candidates also underwent intensive training on effective communication and the art of answering on-the-spot questions with communication expert Ben John Gohing.

Their commitment to the community was evident as they took part in a feeding program in Barangay Alijis.

The pre-pageant and talent presentation is on Oct. 6, starting at 6 p.m., at SM City Bacolod main atrium.

The reigning titleholders are Glen Yvan Lambot and Lyzabelle Blythe Siason Villa as Mr. and Ms. Teen MassKara 2022, John Colyn Espeleta and Julianah Cassandra Makilan – Mr. and Ms. Teen Charity, and Michael Joseph Moraña and Mary Kate Carmona – Mr. and Ms. Teen Tourism. | Anggulo Community photos
