Victorias Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez led the groundbreaking ceremony for three new projects in the city, including the new motorpool facility and two new child development centers (CDCs), April 15.

The facility, which will rise at Hda. Ofelia in Barangay XIV, is designed to provide ample space for the maintenance, repair, and storage of city vehicles, ultimately improving the efficiency of fleet operations and meeting the growing transport and logistical needs of Victorias.

Benitez said he recognized the long-overdue need for a new motorpool facility to enable the city to procure additional service vehicles to address various operational requirements.

He also shared his vision of acquiring electric vehicles in the future for more eco-friendly approach to logistical transportation within Victorias, the city said.

“Pwede kita makapatindog sang progressive, forward-looking motorpool that can cater even to electric vehicles,” the mayor said in his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony.

The planned facility is a joint venture of the city government and contractors Supreme ABF Construction & Construction Supply Co. Inc., and EMR Builders & Development Corporation.

The contractors were represented by Paolo Rojas, Pauline Antoinette Saldaña, Engr. Fritz Baguna, and Engr. Renico Jason Baylon at the ceremony that was also attended by punong barangay Angelo Dorado of Barangay XIV and kagawads, among others.

The two new CDCs, meanwhile, will soon rise at Villa Victorias, Barangay XIII.

The CDCs aim to provide a secure and conducive learning environment for young learners, funded through the Special Education Fund.

Benitez underscored the importance of providing early learners with both financial and developmental support to ensure that they are not left behind and are equipped to excel.

“Nalipay gid ko nga ang aton daycare centers ginahatagan man importansya, kay sa aton paglibot, nakita gid naton nga may mga barangay nga nagakinahanglan gid sang suporta,” the mayor said. “Dako gid ang akon pagpati nga ang aton paghatag suporta sa mga kabataan isa ka crucial gid nga investment—not only in Victorias City but in the Philippines.”

Benitez emphasized that the initiative is a testament to Victorias’ continuing commitment to its Inclusive Education Agenda.

The CDCs in Villa Victorias are being constructed by TMTC Construction & Supply Corporation.

Select child development workers joined the ceremonial signing of plans, time-capsule laying, and groundbreaking ceremony alongside Benitez and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

Department heads, led by city administrator, Atty. Lindolf De Castro, were also in attendance. ||
