The brother of Mayor Marvin Malacon was elected yesterday as president of the Liga ng mga Barangay of E.B. Magalona in Negros Occidental.
Barangay 1 Poblacion chairman Marlon Malacon will sit as an ex-officio member of the Municipal Council.
Also elected were Rolando Banasig of Barangay 3 as vice president and Rio Jemella of Barangay Consing as auditor.
Composing the board of directors are Rosalita Arsenal of Barangay Tabigue, Hernani Bunda of Barangay Batea, Reynaldo Mendoza of Barangay Gahit, Joel Paredes of Barangay Madalag, Larry Sumpay of Barangay Alacaygan and Romulo Villanueva Sr. of Barangay Santo Nino.
Leah Beri of Barangay Tanza and Sharen Belen of Barangay Pasil were appointed as secretary and treasurer, respectively.
The Liga ng mga Barangay election was supervised by the Board of Election Supervisors composed of Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council chair Bobby Paran as chairman and village chiefs Merlinda Dioneo of Barangay Latasan and Ronnie Loro of Barangay San Isidro as members.
Police Maj. Kenneth Jay Gratones, chief of E. B. Magalona Municipal Police Station, acted as observer. ||
