The Bacolod local government, through the City Tourism Development Office (CTDO), in partnership with the Bacolod Gugma Foundation Inc. and the diskwento caravan of the Department of Trade and Industry, will launch a shopping festival for the duration of the MassKara celebration, from Oct. 1 to 19.
This program is one of the city’s highlighted activities for the world-renowned MassKara Festival, bringing together Bacolod’s premier malls – SM City Bacolod, Ayala Malls Capitol Central, Robinsons Bacolod, Lopue’s East Centre and Lopue’s Araneta, for a citywide shopping bonanza, the organizer said.
Festival-goers and shoppers can look forward to big discounts, exclusive promos, and exciting deals from participating mall tenants.
Each mall has prepared special promotions – from rebate points, loyalty rewards, and flash sales, to discounts on selected items across fashion, footwear, accessories, gadgets, groceries, eyewear, and lifestyle products.
Chief tourism operations officer Ma. Teresa Manalili stressed the importance of this initiative in supporting both the local economy and the festive spirit of Bacolod.
“The MassKara Shopping Festival is not only about great deals and discounts,” Manalili said in a statement Sept. 30. “It is about giving our people and visitors more reasons to celebrate Bacolod.”
This program reflects our commitment to strengthen tourism and, of course, stimulate economic activity, she added.
Residents and tourists alike are encouraged to take part in the MassKara Shopping Festival, a highlight of this year’s festival that combines culture, celebration, and commerce.
Food lovers, meanwhile, are in for a treat as the MassKaNamit Food Fair officially opens its doors this afternoon, Oct. 1, from 4:30 p.m. until midnight, at Megaworld’s The Upper East.
The food fair will run until Oct. 19 and is one of the most anticipated attractions of the MassKara Festival. It promises a feast of flavors with a wide selection of local delicacies, modern eats, and Bacolod favorites, offering festival-goers a chance to indulge each day of the 19-day revelry.
Set against the backdrop of The Upper East, the nightly food fair is expected to become a go-to destination for barkadas, families, and visitors eager to savor Bacolod’s culinary pride while soaking in the festive atmosphere, the organizer said. ||
