The newspaper is recognized as a marketplace of ideas, especially its opinion pages. The diversity of topics it carries makes it a forum of informed and even critical reflections that serve as vital inputs to decision-making.
NEGROS WEEKLY is strengthening its marketplace of ideas as we head toward our 20th anniversary next month. Thus, we are opening our pages to experienced voices from various sectors to provide you, our readers, with a more balanced and diverse concerns affecting our daily lives.
We welcome in this issue, in addition to former Gov. Lito Coscolluela, two columnists — Dr. Russel Atonson, who has, among others, served international NGOs in numerous health programs in Asia and Africa, as well as young environmentalist Dave Albao, who had earlier written columns in two newspapers in the city.
We are expecting more experienced thinkers and doers in our subsequent issues — in line with our commitment to sustain vibrant and informed points of view.
