A total of 183 passengers bound for Manila are stranded at the BREDCO port in Bacolod City today due to weather disturbance brought about by Typhoon Ulysses, the Philippine Coast Guard said.

These include 133 from Bacolod and 30 from Iloilo, who are scheduled to sail on board 2GO Travel’s M/V St. Therese of the Child Jesus.

Capt. Eduardo de Luna, commander of Coast Guard District Southern Visayas, said the passengers have been allowed to board the vessel instead of just waiting at the terminal area.

“The vessel will be allowed to sail once typhoon warning signals on its path are lifted,” he said.

The inclement weather also hampered the delivery of 148 rolling cargoes to Manila.

As of 2 p.m. today, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 was hoisted in Metro Manila as Typhoon Ulysses accelerated while moving westward over the Philippine Sea. -NLG
