Personnel of Coast Guard Station-Negros Occidental, led by its commander, Capt. Ludovico Librilla Jr., held a mangrove planting and coastal cleanup at the mangrove conservation area in Brgy. VI-A Villa Miranda, Victorias City in Negros Occidental yesterday.

The activity was held in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary 1305th Squadron, the City Government of Victorias, and the Fisherfolk Association of Villa Miranda.

The mangrove planting activity is an advocacy of Victorias City residents to propagate and preserve mangroves in the coastal community.

The Victorias City LGU said it appreciated the effort of the PCG and will provide about 5,000 square meters for its adopt-a-mangrove program.

An inspection of the proposed lot for the Coast Guard Victorias sub-station was also conducted in Zone II Hope Shine, Brgy. VI-A, in the city. — PR
