Almost 7,000 visitors flocked to Mambukal Mountain Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary in Murcia, Negros Occidental during the Holy Week as the provincial government further improved its amenities and introduced more attractions inside the resort.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said a heavy turnout of guests was recorded on Easter Sunday, where the resort logged 2,416 visitors.

On Holy Thursday, there were 1,420 guests; Good Friday, 1,377; and Black Saturday, 759.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson recently led the inauguration and blessing of the upgraded facilities, including the wildlife and waterfalls trekking amenity, river dipping, Garden Café, and the power house.

With the summer season now underway, even higher visitor turnout is expected in the coming days.

High-end villas with a bonfire camp at the center are soon up for bookings.

The steady influx underscores Mambukal’s enduring appeal as one of Negros Occidental’s premier eco-tourism destinations, particularly during long weekends when families and groups seek a refreshing escape from the summer heat. | GB
