Best VAW desk officers, BCPCs recognized

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the awarding of the Best Barangay Councils for the Protection of Children (BCPC) and Best Barangay VAW desks and desk officers in Negros Occidental July 8 at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City.

Winners of the Provincial Search for BVAW Desk and Desk Officers municipal category are Brgy. Vista Alegre, municipality of Ilog, first place; Sangke in Hinoba-an, second place; Tinongan in Isabela, third place; and Caliban in Murcia, fourth place.

Winners of the Provincial Search for BVAW Desk and Desk Officers city category are Brgy. Ara-al in La Carlota City, first; Talubangi in Kabankalan City, second; Brgy. Zone 6, Cadiz City, third; Buluangan in San Carlos City, fourth; Brgy. II in Victorias City, fifth; and Rizal in Escalante City, consolation prize.

The outstanding BCPCs are Brgy. Daga in Cadiz City; Poblacion 8, Isabela; Mailum, Bago City; Buluangan, San Carlos City; Bulwangan, Hinoba-an; Poblacion–III, La Carlota; Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto; Brgy. IV, Silay City; Poblacion, Cauayan; Brgy. III, Sipalay; Brgy. Banga, Candoni; Tabu, Ilog; Jonob-jonob, Escalante City; and Brgy. VII in Victorias.

The awardees were recognized for their excellent contribution and initiative in advocating for the rights and welfare of women and children.

Board Member Rita Gatuslao, DILG–Negros Occidental director, Roslyn Quintana, Provincial Council for Women chairperson, Atty.
