The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) will distribute land titles, debt-condonation certificates, and farm machinery to 4,242 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Negros Oriental today, July 10.

The beneficiaries will receive 922 land titles and 2,112 Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (CoCROMs), along with P7.355 million worth of farm machinery and support services.

The activity supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s commitment to complete land distribution to all agrarian reform beneficiaries before his term ends in 2028.

Of the 4,242 ARBs, 350 land-title recipients and 1,150 CoCROM recipients will represent the awardees during the ceremonial mass distribution.

DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III will lead the ceremony.

Estrella will also turn over farm machinery and tools to six ARB organizations (ARBOs) to support their agricultural productivity.

The six ARBOs will receive five tractors with farm implements and one rice combine harvester.

They are the Linothangan Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association Inc. in Linothangan, Canlaon City; Sampiniton Agrarian Reform Farmers and Beneficiaries Association Inc. in Sampiniton, Jimalalud; Camansi Farmers Association Inc. in Barangay Novallas, Tanjay City; Barangay San Antonio Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association Inc. in Barangay San Antonio, Sibulan; Jagna Nagbalaye Agrarian Reform Cooperative in Nagbalaye, Santa Catalina; and Bayawan United Farmers Irrigators Association Inc. in Barangay Nangak, Bayawan City.

The ARBOs mainly plant sugarcane, rice, and corn.

“The distribution of land titles and farm machinery to ARBs is a milestone in fulfilling their long-standing aspirations,” provincial agrarian reform program officer Manuel Galon Jr. of DAR-Negros Oriental said.

Galon said the land titles represent the ARBs’ legal ownership of the lands they have cultivated and a step toward improving their livelihood.

Governor Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbarria, 2nd District Rep. Maisa Sagarbarria, and Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel “Chiquiting” Sagarbarria are expected to join Estrella during the distribution ceremony in Dumaguete City. | PIA
