The Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees and the provincial government of Negros Occidental yesterday signed a three-year Collective Negotiation Agreement, which will cover the period from 2020 to 2023.

The CNA was signed by PACE president Renelo Lastierre, in behalf of the Capitol employees, and Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, who represented the provincial government of Negros Occidental.

The signing was made after the CNA was approved last week by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental, who also gave Lacson the authority to sign it.

Lastierre said the CNA signing will serve as basis for Capitol employees to receive incentives, with the amount now being determined by the provincial government, to be sourced out from the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses savings.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz earlier said Capitol employees could receive as much as P25,000 depending on the MOOE savings, as allowed by the Department of Budget and Management and the Commission on Audit.

We hope that this will be a successful move of the union, and we are very happy because the provincial government officials showed that they are pro-employees, Lastierre said.

“We also believe that Gov. Lacson will reward the provincial government employees who work with him in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added. – GB
