Kabankalan City is gears up for the 50th Sinulog Festival celebration, with the stage and kiosks now being prepared in the runup to the opening festivities on Jan. 9.
The grand stage will soon rise, and this year’s Sinulog dancers will enjoy a more comfortable experience as the arena competition will be heat-free, ensuring better performance and safety for all participants, the city said in a statement Jan. 6.
The 10 tribes joining in this year’s tribal parade and arena competition include Barangay Camansi – Tribu Camansihanon, Barangay 1 – Tribu Uno, Barangay Talubangi – Tribu “Nonoy Anti” Bangi-anon, Barangay 4 – Tribu Bana-ag sa Cuatro, Barangay Orong – Tribu Orobinocao;

Barangay 8 – Tribu Ylaya, Barangay 7 – Tribu Siete, Barangay Tagoc – Tribu Tagocanon, Barangay Binicuil – Tribu Atiklan, and Barangay 9 – Tribu Nueve.
“Each tribe will bring its own story, dance, and colorful flair, celebrating heritage, faith, and unity in honor of the Señor Santo Niño,” the city stressed.
The tribal competition on Jan. 18 is chaired by Councilor Joestarr Bandojo, Board of Director of the Kabankalan Sinulog Foundation Inc. ||
