IT firm eyeing expansion in Bacolod, Negros Occ.

Several executives of one of the leading information technology (IT) companies in the country, the HCL Technologies Philippines Inc., met with Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson Friday at the provincial Capitol and discussed plans to expand operations in Bacolod and Negros Occidental.

Giridhar V, vice president and global head NV of Digital Foundation Service; Roopesh Mishra, country HR head; and Sundeep Kumar, service delivery leader, told Lacson that their company intends to open new sites in Bacolod and Negros Occidental to bring in employment, business opportunities, and skills development for the Negrense youth.

The meeting was also attended by Negros Occidental Language and IT Center administrator, Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido, and officers of the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for ICT, a Capitol press release said, adding that HCL Technologies Philippines is certified by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority.

The Indian multinational IT services and consulting company met with the Board of Investments in March this year on their plan to operate in Bacolod.

The BOT said the project will bring in additional investments in the country. It will also provide job opportunities and the company’s labor pool with talent upskilling. ||
