Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson confirmed on Monday (June 10) the issuance of a show-cause order to Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena and several employees of Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary for unliquidated cash advances.

Lacson, however, said the serving of the show-cause order to Decena, who was then assigned at the Mambukal Resort in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, and some of its employees is not a “big deal”.

They were just reminded to liquidate cash advances, the deadline of which was supposed to end last year, he added.

“Maybe they are doing other things. They just have to liquidate it,” the governor said, noting that the cash advances were in line with the operations of Mambukal Resort.

Before her designation as the provincial tourism officer, Decena was the head of the Capitol-managed mountain resort.

While he has yet to determine the amount to be liquidated, Lacson strongly debunked reports that it is amounting to P30 million. | GB
