Personnel of the DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS Negros Island Region revisited the municipal isolation facility in Barangay Mangoto, Pamplona July 15, to gain insights on the LGU’s plan to repurpose the site into a community hospital.

Constructed in 2022 through the Kalahi-CIDSS NCDDP Additional Financing, the facility was initially built to support the municipality’s COVID-19 response.

With the shift in community needs, the LGU is now in the process of securing certifications and clearances from the Department of Health and the Provincial Health Office (PHO) to support its conversion, the DSWD-NIR said in a statement.

The Sangguniang Bayan also committed to pass an enabling ordinance to convert the isolation facility into the Municipality of Pamplona Emergency Hospital, and allocate funds for its operation.

The visit was led by Kalahi-CIDSS NIR Operations and Maintenance focal person John Christian Dumancas, together with Mayor Nikko Niño Ramirez, highlighting the shared commitment of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the local government to maximize community-driven infrastructure for long-term development. ||
