Inodeo is new Binalbagan vice mayor

Councilor Ursecio Inodeo has been sworn in this morning, Nov. 3,  as the new vice mayor of Binalbagan town in Negros Occidental.

Inodeo, the No. 1 councilor, took his oath at the Binalbagan Convention Hall,   replacing Vice Mayor Samuel Gavaran, 57, who passed away on Nov. 2, due to a lingering illness.

Gavaran was suffering from kidney disease complications, Mayor Alejandro Mirasol said.

The oath-taking ceremony was witnessed by Inodeo’s family, Sangguniang Bayan members, department heads and municipal employees,  Mirasol.said.

“Let us continue working despite the challenges our town is facing. As we continue to mourn (the death of Vice Mayor Gavaran), let’s keep moving forward,” Mirasol said, as he congratulated Inodeo.

The mayor also thanked Gavaran for the services he had rendered to Binalbaganons.

“We salute your sacrifices, and you will be forever in our hearts,” Mirasol said in a statement.

He described Gavaran, known as Vice Samuel to ordinary folk, as a “down to earth leader”, and a friend to everybody.
