A 38-year-old woman was found dead in an isolated area of Barangay Sicaba, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on May 21, in what authorities suspect to be a case of sexual assault.
The victim, whose identity was withheld by the police, was discovered by her husband on a vacant lot in Sitio Capayas about 300 meters from their residence.
Investigators noted that the victim, who sustained head injuries, was found without undergarments.
The strap of the victim’s black sling bag was found tied around her neck, according to the police.
Recovered from the crime scene were a coconut fruit, the victim’s sling bag, and a pair of slippers. | GB
