Hiraya Water Corporation is awaiting clearance from its main office before appearing before the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod to outline its operational plans for the city, Councilor Bobby Rojas said.
Rojas, chairperson of the SP Committee on Energy and Public Utilities, confirmed that initial discussions were held with Hiraya Water, adding that the firm’s local team is awaiting clearance from its main office to attend an SP committee conference.
The committee earlier decided to hold a conference following approval of an amended resolution requesting both the Bacolod City Water District and Hiraya Water to present concrete plans in improving water services across Bacolod.
“They cannot give details yet, but they have ongoing programs in the city where we will find out about new pipelaying (plans) and improvements. In Hiraya’s case, their focus will actually be per barangay, where contractors in different barangays will immediately repair various issues regarding pipes, leakages, and everything else,” Rojas said.
He noted that the company has expressed openness to present its development roadmap directly to the Bacolod city government.
