Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Hinigaran Mayor Nadie Arceo led the inauguration of the 24-room, three-storey Hinugyaw Inn March 1 that is seen to boost the town’s economy and tourism.

The hotel is fully managed by the local government of Hinigaran. It’s an elevator-equipped building with function rooms and a convenience store on the ground floor.

Lacson said the inauguration and blessing of the inn represents a significant step forward in the collective aspiration for the advancement and progress of Hinigaran.

“As governor, I earnestly hope that Hinugyaw Inn will be an exemplar of our famed Negrense hospitality and grace, not just to tourists and guests, but to the locals as well,” Lacson said in a Capitol press release.

He congratulated the municipality and the people of Hinigaran, under the leadership of Arceo, Vice Mayor Mary Grace Arceo, and the Sangguniang Bayan members, on this new development in the Hinigaran Economic-Tourism industry.

The Arceos said the facility will provide economic growth, employment, and will help the tourism promotion of the town.

Vice Mayor Arceo added that they expect P5 million additional income from the commercial spaces and overnight stays this year on the newly-opened inn. ||
