The Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary will implement new rates for its reopening after the Holy Week.

The proposed increase in rates is now up for approval for third and final reading by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental, said Cheryl Decena, manager of the resort.

Decena said that rates on accommodation and recreational facilities have been the same since 2003, and the last increase implemented was in 2011 for the entrance fee.

As proposed by the resort management, the entrance fee will be increased, from P50 to P120 for adults, and P60 for minors from the existing P20.

The new rates for small picnic huts will be P500, and P800 for the use of big picnic huts.

Pagoda/pavilion trellis fee will be P500, while hotel accommodation with breakfast will be from P2,300 to P3,500 up to P4,000.

Rates for family cottages will be from P5,500 to P9,000 (master suite) with additional P350 for an extra person, while the rates for the LGU cottages remain, from P1,500 to P2,500.

Decena said the proposed increase in the entrance fee will now include the use of amenities inside the resort.

Since the facility has been converted into a wildlife sanctuary, Decena said videoke and other noise-creating equipment will no longer be allowed.

On its reopening after the Holy Week, Decena said they will only accommodate day visitors. The facility may start accepting overnight visitors in May, she added. /GB
