Negros Oriental Governor Chaco Sagarbarria led the inauguration and handover ceremony for the solar street light project in Dauin town recently.

This project demonstrates the provincial government’s dedication to advancing sustainable energy solutions and improving local infrastructure, the Capitol said, adding that residents can anticipate greater safety and a higher standard of living in their neighborhoods when solar street lights are installed to illuminate public areas.

It also shows a growing awareness on the importance of environmental sustainability and is in line with global trends toward renewable energy sources.

“The project is emblematic of a broader movement within urban planning that prioritizes innovative designs that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional,” the Capitol said in a statement.

By adopting solar technology, Dauin is positioning itself as a forward-thinking municipality that values ecological responsibility while addressing practical needs, it added.

Mayor Galicano Truita and Councilor Alvin Truita facilitated the ceremony at the Dauin Mega Market lobby, that highlights local governance and community involvement in developmental projects. ||
