Granadianz regains title as Bacolaodiat street, lantern dance contest champion

Granadianz regained the championship title in the 2025 Bacolaodiat Festival street and lantern dance competition Feb. 2.

Jojaju, last year’s grand winner, and The Luminaries bagged the first runner-up and second runner-up spots, respectively.

“Salamat sa tanan nga nagsuporta kag sa Bacolaodiat nga nagbalik ang championship sa Granadianz. Proud guid ako sa ila (Granadianz), ara gid sila gapaninguha,” Joedem Casabuena, choreographer of Granadianz, said.

Granadianz has an impressive 16-year streak joining the competition.

The top three finalists returned to the SM City Bacolod stage, each showcasing performances that blended tradition and the rich Filipino-Chinese heritage that Bacolaodiat upholds, the organizer said.

The event served as a fitting conclusion to one of Bacolaodiat’s most anticipated competitions, reinforcing its significance as a platform for contemporary expression and cultural celebration. ||
