Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya will be the head of the Interim Transition Team of the incoming city administration, mayor-elect Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez said.

“The key to getting things done is choosing the right man for the job,” Benitez said as he thanked Gasataya for accepting the responsibility as the Interim Transition Team head.

The transition team will ensure a smooth transfer of power by June 30, and oversee the transition activities so that the delivery of services to the public remains unhampered.

Benitez, at the proclamation Tuesday at the Bacolod Government Center, said he will assemble a transition team so that there will be no abrupt changes, and to make sure that people are in place, and all are functioning for the changes that they have promised.

The former solon said they will execute the 8-point agenda promised during the campaign period in the first 100 days of his administration.

“We mean business. We will execute the 8-point agenda in the first 100 days,” said Benitez, who got 171,893 votes, or 61.53 percent, against the 107,447 votes, or 38.46 percent, of incumbent Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

These agenda include corruption cleanup, asphalt overlays of subdivisions and city roads, eradicating spaghetti wires, gasoline for patrol cars, renovation of police stations, and establishment of a better CCTV system under the peace and order agenda.

There will also be reorganization at the government center to increase efficiency, solar street lights for safety and security, memorandum of agreement with private hospitals to address the lack of health services and provide adequate healthcare access to all Bacolodnons regardless of status or political leanings, and short term and long term market renovation plans.

Gasataya said they will repay the love and support of Bacolodnons by “delivering our platform and the services you deserve with utmost integrity.”

“Thank you for believing in Team Asenso. Thank you for having the courage to stand up for change. Thank you for continuing to inspire us,” he stressed./CGC
