Former city social welfare and development officer Winona Balagosa will replace Councilor Frances Guanzon, who had resigned as member of the Cadiz City Council.
This was confirmed by Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. on Friday, June 19 as Balagosa took her oath as member of the United Negros Alliance before party president Second District Rep. Alfredo Marañon III.
Escalante and Guanzon, a former regional trial court judge, witnessed Balagosa’s oath-taking.
The mayor said that Balagosa will officially assume her position as councilor on June 30.
Guanzon resigned from her elective post for health reasons. | GPB
