The final evaluation of waste management compliant Capitol offices and government-run hospitals in Negros Occidental is ongoing until Dec. 20.
The Best Office Compliant with Republic Act 9003, or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 Year II, will win P50,000 for the champion, P30,000 – first place, P20,000 – second place, and P10,000 – third place.
For the Best Hospital Compliant with RA9003 Year II, the champion will take home P40,000, P25,000 – first place, and P13,000 – second place; while for the search for the Best Kapitolyo Solid Waste Management Educators (KaSEs) Compliant with RA9003 Office category, the winners will get P11,000 for the champion, P9,000 – first place, and P7,000 – second place; and P7,000 for the champion and P5,000 – first place, for the Hospital category.
The Provincial Environment Management Office recently announced the Top 16 Capitol offices, Top 5 hospitals, and Top 17 KaSEs in this year’s competition.
For the office category, the Top 17 are the Provincial Administrator’s Office, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Office, Technology and Livelihood Development Center, Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program Office, Provincial Assessor’s Office, General Services Office, Provincial Engineer’s Office, Provincial Human Resource Management Office, Hospital Operations Department, Provincial Information Office, Provincial Accounting Office, Mambukal Resort Office, PRDP Office, Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Office, Food Terminal Market of Negros Occidental, and Provincial Treasurer’s Office, a Capitol press release said.
The Top 5 hospitals are the Eleuterio Decena Memorial Hospital in Hinoba-an, Cadiz District Hospital, Ignacio Arroyo Sr. Memorial Hospital in Isabela, Valeriano Gatuslao Memorial Hospital in Himamaylan, and the Valladolid District Hospital.
The Top 17 KaSEs are Minerva Rosario of PEO, Rosemarie Lariosa of HOD, Kyzzamar Ceilo of NOCHP, Mark dela Cruz of Mambukal Resort, Carolyn Alejo of TLDC, Christine Belle Grace Marfil of ICTD Office, Jovel Bernabe of the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division, Kenny Greynor Gallo of NOSP, Maricel Lastierre and Jassen Jamili of the Provincial Assessor’s Office, Ralph Rogel Rogan of the Negros Occidental Investment and Promotion Center, Christine Dinglasan of PIO, Rocky James Alegado of Ignacio Arroyo Memorial District Hospital, Calvin Alcala of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Abigail Hulleza of Cadiz District Hospital, and Teresita Tionko and Marivic Belicena of PTO.
The Provincial Capitol Solid Waste Management Task Group, led by Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, spearheads the conduct of the search for the Best Office/Hospital compliant with RA 9003, which is now in its second year.
Meanwhile, more than 500 barangay health workers (BHWs) from the towns and cities of Negros Occidental attended the BHW Congress 2023 at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City recently.
The Provincial Health Office also gave performance-based incentives to outstanding BHWs, recognized BHWs with 40 years in service, presented the best practices of the LGU BHW federations, and awarded the Remarkable BHW President for 2023.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson thanked the BHWs for being the frontliners of the province’s healthcare services, and for providing indispensable assistance and support to physicians, dentists, nurses, midwives, and other healthcare practitioners.
He said that Capitol’s One Hospital Command and the Digitized Health and Emergency Management were borne out of necessity to improve frontline services in times of crisis and emergency, and to provide quick and quality response to the public’s health, safety, and security.
PHO head, Dr. Ma. Girlie Pinongan, also thanked the BHWs for their service, dedication, and commitment to the service of Negrenses.
The newly-elected officers of the Provincial Federation of Barangay Health Workers took their oaths of office before Lacson, as part of the activity, that was also attended by BHW coordinator Fhemarie Joy Gelogo, Dr. Jessica Fama of PHO, and former PHO head, Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, among others. ||
