A 28-year-old female motorcycle back-rider died while three others were injured following an early morning accident along the Murcia-Bago Road in Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental Sept. 27.
The Murcia Municipal Police Station said the accident occurred at around 2:53 a.m. when the Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle, driven by alias “Donie”, 28, bumped the rear of the Rusi TC motorcycle while both vehicles were traveling toward Barangay Cansilayan.
The impact caused both motorcycles to crash onto the pavement, leaving “Donie” in critical condition with severe head injuries, while his 18-year-old back-rider sustained forehead injuries and abrasions.
The other driver sustained injuries to his face and abrasions on different parts of his body, while his passenger, identified as alias “Jonalyn”, sustained a head injury.
Emergency responders from the Murcia Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Unit rushed all four victims to the Murcia Rural Health Center, but attending physicians declared “Jonalyn” dead on arrival.
The three surviving victims were subsequently transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment, while both motorcycles were impounded by the Murcia MPS for proper disposition. | TMD
