Farmers graduate in Bago

A mass graduation for the season-long Farmers’ Field School on rice and integrated crop management in vegetable production and school-on-air on smart rice agriculture was held at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum and Cultural Center in Bago City recently.

The program covered 171 farmers from barangays Busay, Bacong, Mailum, Dulao Alianza, and Malingin, the city said.

For the Field School, the farmers are from Katilingban Dulao Irrigators’ Association Inc., Mailum Organic Village Association, Barangay Busay Integrated Farmers and Farmworkers Association, and Tabucol Farmers Association.

The students for the school on air on smart rice agriculture, on the other hand, are farmers from San Juan Del Monte Irrigators’ Association Inc., and Alianza Rufina Farmers Association.

Mayor Nicholas Yulo confirmed the graduating farmers, followed by the distribution of certificates of completion. The ceremony was also attended by Vice Mayor Ramon Torres, councilors Ma. Josefa Matti, Jake Patrick Torres, Victor Michael Javellana, and Ma. Femmy Alvarez-Martir, city agriculturist-designate Marvin John Blance, and the families of the graduates. ||
