The decapitated body found by Bacolod police in Barangay 38, and the head found in Barangay 2, Tuesday night, Aug. 31, belong to Glenn Paul Castillo, his sister who lives abroad confirmed to the police.
Police Station 9 Commander Police Major Ritche Gohee said the sister confirmed Castillo’s identify after she saw the pictures online, when the news broke out.
The 42-year-old victim was out on bail, after he and his girlfriend identified as Analie Baldevieso, were arrested on Aug. 21 during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cabug in Bacolod City. The police recovered P156,000 worth of suspected shabu during the operation.
Both were detained at Police Station 9 but Castillo was released after posting a bail of P200,000.
On Tuesday night, a headless body, handcuffed in the back, was found at Rosario Street in Barangay 38 while a head was found in Barangay 2, Gohee said.
The police asked Baldevieso to confirm if the victim was Castillo but she refused to look at the pictures, the police said.
In a radio interview, the victim’s family abroad said they were told that five unidentified suspects picked up Castillo from his house at Deca Homes in Barangay Cabug hours after the decapitated body parts were found.
Gohee, however said, the Police Station 9 did not receive any report of abduction in the area that day.
The victim’s family also said that they have asked him to go home in Cavite in Luzon after posting bail but he told them he has to attend the hearing of his case on September 3.
Castillo and Baldevieso are facing charges for illegal possession of drugs.
Gohee said the victim visited his girlfriend and brought her food at the police station around noon, Tuesday. The victim was heard saying he want to have a haircut on that day, the police said.
Commanders of Police Stations 1 and 2 are coordinating on the investigation of the case. — MML
