he insurgency-free Barangay Alimango in Escalante City, Negros Occidental, received P20 million worth of development projects from the National Task Force –ELCAC (Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict) Support to the Barangay Development Program (SBDP).Of the P20 million development projects, Brig. Gen. Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, said that P17.5 million was allocated for a road concreting project, P1.5 million for solar street lights, and P1 million for a water system project.
Alimango is among the barangays of Escalante formerly affected by insurgency that received P20 million in infrastructure projects, Pasaporte said.
Pasaporte, assisted by Lt. Col. J-Jay Javines,79IB commander, city officials of Escalante led by Mayor Melecio Yap, and DILG officer Fatima Daiz, among others, led the ground breaking rites for the P17.5 million road concreting project in the barangay Oct. 27. — GB
