A 68-year-old unemployed resident of Sitio Del Pilar in Escalante City, Negros Occidental, was stabbed in the back while buying biscuits at a kiosk in Barangay Old Poblacion in the city Aug. 22.
The 53-year-old suspect, alias “George”, was quickly apprehended during a hot-pursuit operation by the Escalante City Police Station.
Police recovered a five-inch kitchen knife from the suspect.
The victim, meanwhile, was rushed by relatives to the Vicente Gustilo District Hospital, and said he will not file formal charges against “George” if the latter covers his medical expenses.
The suspect underwent a medical evaluation due to a previous stroke, then detained at the Escalante police custodial facility for proper disposition. | TMD
