Acting chief of police, Lt. Col. Don Richmon Conag, of the Dumaguete City Police Station, has established outposts in two strategic locations in the city’s commercial district.

The police outposts are located across Portal West of Silliman University, and at the Manuel L. Quezon Park.

Each outpost has police officers on duty 24/7, who are ready to respond to any emergency call or prevent any possible commission of crimes, the city said Feb. 24.

Concerned citizens with requests for assistance or reports can call 0917-1203915 or 0998-5987506.

There are also two border control points in Barangay Buñao, north of the city, and in Barangay Banilad down south.

The outpost establishment is in support of the directive of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo to increase police visibility, the city said.

Several tourist police personnel are also assigned along the stretch of Rizal Boulevard to promote the well-being of both local and foreign tourists as they tour Dumaguete and patronize the various business establishments, thus ensuring that their stay will be pleasant and safe, the city added. ||
