Dumaguete awarded for job placement feat

The Department of Labor and Employment Region VII awarded the Dumaguete City Public Employment Service Office for facilitating the successful recruitment of hundreds of jobseekers in 2024.

DOLE7 director, Atty. Roy Buenafe, recognized Dumaguete for its significant contribution to the region’s overall performance by facilitating the greatest number of placed jobseekers in the province of Negros Oriental for 2024, and for their untiring support in the conduct of DOLE national job fairs that year, the city said May 2.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo also commended the Dumaguete PESO, led by manager Maria Socorro Mira, for sustained efforts in facilitating the recruitment of jobseekers for local and overseas employment opportunities so their families can attain a decent quality of life.

The PESO awards were given in Mandaue City late last month, and were received by Remollo last week, in the presence of Department of Migrant Workers Central Office labor attaché Herminigildo Daytoc, city administrator Lilani Ramon, DMW Region 6 director Glenda Aligonza, and DMW OIC-Region 7 director Maria Eloida Cantona, the city added. ||
