Drugs eyed in fatal shooting of woman

Police investigators are looking into illegal drugs transaction as the motive behind the fatal shooting of a woman in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental on Sept. 14.

The 32 year-old-victim, whose identity is being withheld by the police, succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and chest.

Before the incident in San Agustin St., Barangay II, the victim and the suspect figured in heated arguments related to the illegal drug trade, based on the revelation of the friend of the victim, as reported to the police.

The suspect, who was identified as a resident of the place, fled on board a motorcycle.

Investigators recovered from the scene of the incident a deformed slug, two spent shells and a magazine of caliber .45 caliber pistol, six rounds of ammunition and a red Yamaha Mio 125 motorcycle. | GB
