‘Drug den’ dismantled

Eight persons were arrested by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives during a buy-bust in Purok Lubi, Barangay 3, Bacolod City on Thursday (Feb. 29).

The operation led to the confiscation of an estimated 30 grams of suspected shabu valued at P90,000 and assorted paraphernalia.

Arrested was Jose Weber, also known as “Daddy Joy”, who allegedly maintained the drug den, along with John Weber, Jose Gentica, Marlon Lim, Angelica Decosta, Debbie Valdez, Jose Rama and Mark Lister Chavez.

Meanwhile, a series of police buy-bust operations led to the confiscation of more than P700,000 worth of suspected shabu and the arrest of seven drug suspects in Negros Occidental on Feb. 27 and 28.

The apprehension of a 24-year-old student at San Agustin Street, Barangay 2 Poblacion, La Carlota City yielded some 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000.

Three drug suspects were arrested in Barangays 5 and Rizal, Silay City that led to the recovery of 28 grams of suspected shabu valued at almost P200,000.

In Mt. Carmel, Barangay 5, Victorias City, a woman was arrested with 25 grams of suspected shabu worth P170,000.
