The Department of Health has allotted P80 million for the rebuilding and upgrade of the Bago City Hospital, with the memorandum of agreement signed by Bago Mayor Mayette Javellana and DOH-Negros Island Region OIC assistant regional director Adrian Hort Ramos in Dumaguete City Oct. 28.

“(These) critical calamity repairs will fortify Bago City Hospital against future natural disasters,” the DOH-NIR said Oct. 29, adding the appropriation, through the Health Facilities Enhancement Program 2025 CONAP (Continuing Appropriations) Project, “will drive the procurement of advanced medical equipment, ensuring that our healthcare heroes have the modern tools needed to save lives.”

Javellana also received the DOH License to Operate (LTO) for the Barangay Ma-ao Primary Care Facility, during the MOA signing ceremony.

“Quality, frontline healthcare is now fully active right in the neighborhood, saving residents from long, agonizing travels for medical care,” the DOH-NIR said in a statement. “By deploying strategic upgrades and bringing licensed medical resources directly to the grassroots, the DOH-NIR Center for Health Development is breaking down the barriers of distance and vulnerability.”

Javellana thanked the DOH for its constant help and support to the city government, and expressed optimism that these developments will further strengthen the local healthcare system and directly benefit all Bagonhons. ||
