DHSUD approves NegOcc development framework plan

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Bong Lacson received on Thursday (Jan. 13) a certificate of approval for the six-year Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).

Lacson, who accepted the document from Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar and Undersecretary Henry Yapon at the DHSUD central office in Manila, expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders who actively participated in the crafting of the PDPFP.

He acknowledged their invaluable guidance during the formulation of the comprehensive 940-page plan.

The inclusive, data-driven and disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation mainstreamed plan integrates both spatial and development concerns, allowing the province to identify strategic and practical solutions to current and future challenges.

Acuzar commended the efforts of the provincial government for completing the PDPFP, along with seven other provinces namely, Agusan del Sur, Bulacan, Laguna, Northern Samar, Sarangani, Siquijor and Zamboanga del Norte.

The approval of the comprehensive land use plans of the cities of Pasig and Angeles were also recognized during the ceremony.

Also present during the event were DHSUD-Western Visayas Regional Director Eva Marfil and Provincial Planning and Development Office OIC Benja Lucasan. ||
