The resumption next month of limited in-person classes in schools damaged by Typhoon Odette will be suspended.
Romeo Sison, head of the Schools Governance Operations Division of the Negros Occidental Schools Division, said that 17 schools started their gradual and limited face to face classes in Negros Occidental.
The Aguntilan Elementary School in Isabela reported typhoon damage and it will go back to modular classes in January, Sison said.
Pilot schools under the Kabankalan and Sipalay Schools Division Offices which suffered devastation will also go back to distance learning through modules.
The Valladolid National High School, meanwhile, will resume face to face classes for junior and senior high schools.
The Department of Education in Negros Occidental, in a meeting with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council last week, reported an initial damage of P268.3 million, including classrooms and instructional materials. — MML
