Dengue cases drop by 74% in NegOcc

Dengue cases in Negros Occidental dropped to 74 percent from January to November 4 this year compared to the same period last year, records of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed.

Cases of the mosquito-borne reduced to 3,769 cases this year, from 4,895 cases in 2022.

However, there were seven deaths this year, with the most number of cases from one to 11 years old.

Meanwhile, dengue cases in the highly- urbanized Bacolod City also decreased by 47.2 percent, according to a report of the City Health Office.

In the first 10 months of 2023, the CHO recorded only 479 cases, including three deaths, while last year, there were 907 cases, of which 13 persons had died. | GB
