An immediate demolition was requested by the Office of the Provincial Administrator on the portion of the Paglaum Sports Stadium along Hernaez Street in Bacolod City because of damages incurred during Typhoon Odette.

Atty. Rayfrando Diaz also requested for a separate assessment from the Provincial Engineering Office and to immediately make a recommendation if there is an immediate need to demolish, particularly the section of the roofing posing danger.

One of the main steel posts of the stadium was damaged by strong winds, and poses danger to the whole structure.

The property custodian also showed photos of parts of the roof damaged by the typhoon.

The stadium houses some classrooms and laboratory rooms of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center.

Diaz said he will wait for the recommendation of the PEO team before taking action of transferring some learning facilities of NOLITC to the Negros CyberCentre. | MML
