The Central Philippines State University (CPSU) campus will remain in Moises Padilla town after the Negros Occidental provincial government already acquired the two-hectare land for the satellite campus.

“There is no problem, CPSU will keep its Moises Padilla campus,” Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said.

Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo and the Municipal Council earlier sought the help of Lacson, after they were informed that the lot owner, former Mayor Frank Nazareno, had been asking the school to return the property after the deed of usufruct that allowed CPSU to use the property expired in 2017 yet.

Lacson said the purchase of the property was delayed because of the ban on such transactions during the election period for the May 12 polls.

Garcia-Yulo said more than a thousand students in Moises Padilla and from the neighboring local government units are enrolled in the CPSU satellite campus.

It offers courses in Education, Agribusiness, Information Technology, among others. | GB
