A couple was shot dead by a still unidentified gunman in Sagay City, while a husband allegedly killed his wife in Calatrava, Negros Occidental, all on June 17.
The police said Ermelito Desamparado and his wife, Melanie, were killed in Purok Diot, Brgy. Molocaboc, Sagay City, at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Initial investigations of the Sagay City police showed that Ermelito, 46, had fetched Melanie, a 44-year-old teacher, at the Molocaboc wharf, when they were waylaid and shot several times.
The couple sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot, the Sagay police said.
On the other hand, Alex Ambasing, 32, allegedly shot and killed his wife, Sendy, 28, also on June 17, in Sitio Cabesa Antonio, Brgy. San Isidro, Calatrava.
Initial investigations of the Calatrava police disclosed that heated arguments ensued between the couple inside their bedroom shortly before midnight Thursday.
Sendy had a gunshot wound in the dead and was declared dead on arrival at the Calatrava Municipal Hospital, while her husband fled after the incident.
Jealousy and misunderstanding reportedly triggered the shooting incident, the Calatrava police said. — GB
