Policemen confiscated P866,048 worth of suspected shabu and arrested eight persons in a series of anti-drug operations in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental on Aug. 20 and 21, reports of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) showed.
Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit apprehended Dennis Britania, 46, during a buy-bust on Thursday at Purok Lubi in Barangay 3, Bacolod City.
Britania yielded about 100 grams of suspected shabu valued at P680,000 and P1,000 in marked money.

Seven other drug suspects were separately arrested on Wednesday in the cities of Sagay, Silay, Escalante and Talisay as well as in Pontevedra town, which led to the recovery of 27.3 grams of suspected shabu valued at P186,048.
In a statement, Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR chief, lauded the police operatives for their vigilance, rapid response, and high level of professionalism during the series of anti-drug operations.
“Their actions led to the successful apprehension of suspects and the confiscation of illegal drugs further disrupting the operations of drug networks,” he added. | GB
