Comelec: About 3M registered voters in Negros Island Region

There are 2,992,818 registered voters in the Negros Island Region, as of July 15 this year, the Commission on Elections-NIR said July 30.

Data released by Comelec NIR show that, as of the July 15 Election Registration Board (ERB) hearing result, Negros Occidental logged 1,954,679 registered voters, Negros Oriental with 959,228, and Siquijor with 78,911.

Satellite registration and the Register Anywhere Program (RAP) is also ongoing until Aug. 1 at SM Bacolod main atrium, in line with the National and Local Elections in May next year, even as other local government units in the NIR are likewise holding their respective voter list-up activities.

The Comelec NIR said 333 voter-applications, three of them for RAP, were received, as of Day 2 of the Bacolod event.

The registration starts at 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., and accepted applications include registration, transfer, reactivation, correction of entry, and the RAP.

Applicants are urged to bring the original and photocopies of government and student identification (ID) cards and PSA-authenticated birth and marriage certificates, as applicable.
