Cockfighting will be prohibited on Holy Thursday and Good Friday in Cauayan, Negros Occidental.

In Executive Order No. 3, Mayor John Rey Tabujara said the police has been tasked to take appropriate action against violators.

Tabujara said that cockfighting, including all form of operations, is prohibited during the observance of Holy Thursday and Good Friday.

Meanwhile in Murcia, Mayor Gerardo Rojas suspended all in-person classes, from pre-school to senior high school, starting the afternoon of March 26 and the whole day of March 27 due to rising temperature.

The mode of instruction is shifted to modular distance learning, Rojas said.

For the college level, Rojas said he is leaving it to the discretion of their respective school administrators, as he stressed that there should be no outdoor activities.

The Central Philippines State University also issued an advisory, suspending its work operations in the afternoon of March 27, and to resume on April 1. | GB
