The ongoing renovation of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital Emergency Room is 20.6 percent complete, and targeted to be finished by January next year.
Engr. Roy de la Torre told Department of Health undersecretary Mary Ann Maestral, who checked on the ongoing renovation Nov. 10, that Durabuild Construction has also expressed its intention to turn over the project by Dec. 31, 2025, provided there are no major weather-related delays.
The ER renovation is a major infrastructure project at CLMMRH, aimed at enhancing emergency and trauma care for the Negros Island Region, the Horizon posted, adding that Maestral expressed her support for the renovation and stressed the importance of ensuring quality, safe, and timely project completion.

Medical Center chief, Dr. Joan Cerrada, said the upgraded ER will strengthen CLMMRH’s capacity to deliver responsive and efficient emergency care.
Cerrada has said that the renovation, worth around P92 million, aims to improve and optimize space management in the Emergency Department, with the 65-68 bed capacity to be maintained.
There will be enhanced physical setup for better patient and personnel experience, with comfort rooms for male, female, and PWDs as well as improved air-conditioning, among others, she added.
“The changes in the physical setup will present challenges in patient movement and navigation. Please bear with us as we try to improve the hospital facilities,” Cerrada earlier said in a press conference, adding that the renovation, which started Sept. 28, will be for three to four months. ||
