A job order employee of the Bacolod city government was fined P1,000 and is facing disciplinary action after being caught on camera riding a motorcycle without a helmet.

The penalty was handed down by the Bacolod Traffic and Transportation Management Department (BTTMD) after photos of the employee violating local traffic regulations circulated online.

Secretary to the mayor, Atty. Jose Marty Go, confirmed the P1,000 fine and said that the City Legal Office summoned the employee, who explained that he was in a hurry to drop off his child.

“Picking up or dropping off your child is not a justifiable reason, the fact remains that you drove a motorcycle without a helmet,” Go said.

“Since we ourselves implement and enforce the law, we must be the first to follow it and serve as an example,” he added. | TMD
