The College of Education launched the “3Cs: The Child Care Connect” program Sept. 27 at the CHMSU Talisay gym that the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education faculty members and students organized.

The program aimed to improve the skills of 47 child development workers from Talisay City to create supportive environments for children’s growth.

Meanwhile, the College of Arts and Sciences launched the PAGSAKDAG Program, an expansion of the university’s training and development services, Sept. 25 at the La Carlota Mayor’s Hall.

The “PAGSAKDAG Program: Sustainable futures, bridging communities, improving lives” aims to expand the services of CHMSU to the less privileged and underserved sectors of adults in the communities to help them avail of practical, innovative, and up-to-date training and development services that will prove helpful for them as they go about their daily lives, the university said in a press release.

The contingent from CHMSU was welcomed by La Carlota City Mayor Rex Jalando-on and Councilor January Abad, chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Women, Family Relations, and Children.

The program is led by Yvonne Velasco and facilitated by CAS ECS coordinator April Abrera. Director for Extension and Community Services Roger Ray Manzano also joined the program launch.

It is divided into three independent projects, headed by different teams of experts in specific and relevant topics. Project Dagyaw is led by Everlou Maquiling, Project #SML led by Jansen Tumabing, and Project ARBs by Soledad Estares. ||
