The Central Negros Electric Cooperative said March 16 that its average residential rate for this month decreased by P1.5577 per kilowatt-hour.

This means that member-consumers from the cities of Bacolod, Bago, Talisay, and Silay, and the towns of Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto will each be paying P10.2279 per kilowatt of energy consumed, from the February rate of P11.7856/kWh.

The decrease was mainly due to the reduced total generation charges by P1.4632/kWh, or from P7.9668 in February to the current P6.5036/kWh; and lowered system loss at P0.7928, from the P0.9218/kWh technical and nontechnical loss logged last month.

Last month, Ceneco’s residential rate increased by P0.9506/kWh, from the P10.8350/kWh as per the January billing.

The Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative said March 15 that its residential rate this billing month decreased by P2.1484/kWh, due to a reduction in the total generation charge by P2.0290/kWh.

Noceco member-consumers will be paying P11.1567/kWh this month, from the P13.3051/kWh residential rate in February. | CGC
