The physical structure of the almost P1 billion new Provincial Administration Center (PAC) is being targeted for completion by August this year, Provincial Administrator II Rayfrando Diaz said on Friday, April 11.
Diaz said the furniture and fixtures have already been ordered, adding that these will be delivered as soon as the building is ready for occupancy.
Dynamic Builders started the construction in 2022 and the new PAC is now 70 percent completed.
The seven-storey PAC building along Aguinaldo Street will house the various provincial government offices, which is presently located in buildings near the century-old Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the new PAC building will be operational next year.
He said that he wants the Governor’s Office to remain at the Provincial Capitol, which is the symbol of Negros Occidental’s seat of power.
Lacson said that he may also set up a receiving area in the new PAC building. | GB
