The provincial government of Negros Occidental is looking into the Performance Based Bonus (PBB) in giving Capitol employees their extra bonus before the year ends.
Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said Monday that they are ruling out the giving of IBES or Incentive Benefit for Exemplary Services, which he described as “problematic”, after the provincial government received a Notice of Disallowance, or Audit Observation Memorandum (AOM) from the Commission on Audit.
The IBES provides across-the-board benefits, regardless of salary grades.
Diaz explained that giving the PBB will entail documentation and will depend on the performance and salary grade of employees.
Last year, each Capitol employee received P65,000 in additional bonuses, and P25,000 of that was under the IBES.
“Definitely, there will be no IBES this year, PBB is the next option,” Diaz said.
However, he said that the 14th month pay will be released first week of December this year.
“We have the source of funds for the additional bonus of employees from unused and surplus funds,” Diaz pointed out./GB
